A non-profit industry-supported organization, the Tanzanite Foundation strives to educate and inspire consumers about Tanzanite. The Foundation also undertakes community projects in the regions surrounding the tanzanite mining area in Merelani.
It’s been 50 years since tanzanite first saw the light of day, after being discovered near the foothills of Kilimanjaro in 1967. View the timeline of tanzanite’s history and get to know this gorgeous stone a bit better.
